Lori Vallow Daybell found guilty!
Prosecutors presented a compelling case that Vallow Daybell conspired with her brother, Alex Cox, to murder Charles Vallow in July 2019 at her Chandler home.
Lori Vallow Daybell was found guilty by jurors after only three hours of deliberation. Now facing the prospect of an additional life sentence in Arizona. Which would be tacked onto the three she is already serving in Idaho.
Sentencing in Arizona will proceed following her trial for another alleged murder conspiracy.
Jury selection for that trial will begin in June.
Prosecutors presented a compelling case that Vallow Daybell conspired with her brother, Alex Cox, to murder Charles Vallow in July 2019 at her Chandler home. Their motivation was unmistakable: financial gain from Vallow's life insurance policy and her relationship with Chad Daybell, an author of religious novels centered around prophecies and the impending apocalypse.
Remember the Zombie chart I mentioned?
Despite lacking legal training, Vallow Daybell opted to represent herself at trial. It was a site to see. Let me put it this way: I was guaranteed to laugh daily while watching the trial live.
When the verdict was announced, she maintained a composed demeanor. As she usually does. Occasionally, making blank eye contact with jurors who confirmed their unanimous decision of guilt on the sole charge.
On top of it, Vallow Daybell's demeanor in both interviews with law enforcement and throughout the trial spoke louder than words.
Raising red flags for jurors.
Speaking to reporters outside the courthouse, Juror Victoria Lewis firmly stated that Vallow Daybell’s self-representation severely undermined her case. "Many days, she was just smiling and laughing and didn’t seem to take anything seriously," Lewis asserted.
Jurors exiting the courtroom from Arizona vs. Lori Vallow Daybell trial revealed that 10 out of 12 had firmly decided on her guilt before deliberating. Only two remained uncertain. Ultimately, the critical factor was Vallow Daybell's incriminating text messages.
"I had never heard of Lori Daybell until I was selected for this jury," asserted juror Karl.
The jury was unaware that Vallow Daybell is already facing multiple life sentences for the murders of her two youngest children, JJ and Tylee, as well as her husband's first wife. Later, they (the jury) were mind-blown entirely by her life sentence in Idaho for killing her two children.
Juror Victoria Lewis commented, "A significant amount of information that felt inconclusive or missing. I kept wanting to hear from Tylee, but we simply didn’t have enough to work with." Another juror, Tass Reed-Tucker, echoed this sentiment: "We were left in the dark about many critical details."
Tylee took off in the car with her mother and brother that morning. JJ was dropped off at school, and Tylee and Lori went to get breakfast. Yeah. Breakfast. While Chad lay dead on the floor.
After the verdict, collectively stunned, the jury learned together that the only witnesses present when Charles Vallow was killed were now dead.
"Wow, it’s just overwhelming. There’s no other way to put it. It’s monumental," said Karl.
3 out of 12 jurors clarified that Vallow Daybell’s text messages decisively influenced their guilty verdict.
"For me, the text messages were definitive evidence, and we uncovered numerous lies," Lewis stated firmly.
Reed-Tucker pointed out a particularly alarming message: "She referred to him as Ned before they took care of him. That was the point where we knew we had something real here."
Another text that caught their attention was Vallow Daybell’s reaction upon learning that she was no longer the beneficiary on Charles' life insurance policy, which many believe was her motive for wanting him dead.
While jurors are still grappling with the horrifying revelations of Vallow Daybell's previous convictions, they expressed that this knowledge bolstered their confidence in the decision they reached today.
Vallow Daybell attempted to justify her actions by claiming that Charles Vallow had attacked her with a bat inside her home and insisted that her brother shot him in self-defense as she fled with her children, JJ and Tylee, returning only with Tylee afterward. She tried to frame the incident as a tragedy rather than a crime.
In her closing argument, Vallow argued that she had the right to defend herself under AZ law. As well as Tylee and Alex. She argued that these actions (killing Chad) were taken on behalf of Defense. Chad was the aggressor.
“This event was not a crime; it was a tragedy. Don't allow them to turn my family's tragedy into a crime.”
I didn't know a bat and a gun posed the same threat….but ok.
Idiot.
Following the murder, Alex Cox died from a blood clot in his lungs. This was shortly after Tammy Daybell, Chad’s ex-wife, was exhumed for examination. After the children's disappearances became known, Tammy's body was exhumed by law enforcement officials, revealing that she had been asphyxiated. Lori and Chad married two weeks after Tammy's death. Flying off to Hawaii, leaving her babies buried in a shallow grave on the Daybell property. Both tight-lipped. Hand in hand, walking through a car rental parking lot. With no fucks given, I might add. When reporters asked, “Where are your children?”
In a critical moment during the prosecution, Adam Cox, another of Vallow Daybell's brothers, took the stand, unequivocally asserting his belief that his siblings were responsible for Charles Vallow's death. He revealed that the murder occurred just before he and Charles were about to intervene and rescue his sister from her destructive path away from their shared faith in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Adam also highlighted that his sister had previously claimed her husband was dead and that a "zombie" had taken control of his body.
Four months before his death, Charles Vallow filed for divorce, expressing serious concerns over Vallow Daybell's obsession with near-death experiences and her claims of past lives on other planets. Can you imagine? The mother of your children saying she has PAST LIVES on OTHER PLANETS?! This poor father must’ve been so petrified for his two children living in that house with that monster. He alleged that she threatened to ruin him financially and harm him. Ultimately seeking a voluntary mental health evaluation for her.
Vallow's siblings, Kay Woodcock and Gerry Vallow, publicly expressed relief and gratitude for the jury's decision. Woodcock boldly declared, "We gotcha, and you're not the smartest person in the room," when asked if she had a message for Vallow Daybell.
"Everyone's going to forget about you."
Though the words will never ring true, NO ONE will forget the Doomsday Mother who murdered he babies and flew off to Hawaii telling NO ONE their whereabouts.
Vallow Daybell is set to go on trial again in early June, facing serious accusations of plotting to kill Brandon Boudreaux, her niece’s ex-husband, who narrowly escaped this conspiracy.
Brandon Boudreaux was a key witness in Lori Vallow Daybell’s trial and ex-husband of her niece, Melani Pawlowski. He testified on April 10, 2023. He discussed his close relationship with the Vallow family. Which changed in 2018 due to Lori's extremist, BAT SHIT CRAZY religious beliefs.
Boudreaux reached out to Charles Vallow, Lori’s ex, for support before Charles was killed by Lori’s brother, Alex Cox. After Brandon’s divorce that month, Brandon was shot at in October by someone in a Jeep with Texas plates. Prompting him to report the incident and raise concerns about the Vallow case. Charles had bought a car with Texas plates for Tylee before his ultimate demise.
He later shared photos of the missing JJ and Tylee on social media, saying, "Someone out there knows something but doesn’t know how all the pieces fit together. Help me connect them with the police so we can bring justice to Charles and the other victims,”
I’m sure Lori and Chad were THRILLED that the post was made.
On the witness stand, he told prosecutors he’d only lived there a few days, and only his neighbors and Pawlowski knew his location. At the time, he met with investigators and recalled telling them about a Jeep that Charles Vallow purchased for Tylee, which also had a Texas license plate.
Lori Vallow Daybell is now serving 3 life sentences. She's currently facing 2 remaining charges. The Conspiracy to shoot Brandon. As well as grand left larceny charges. The big question now is: Will she go it alone and represent herself again, or will she seek the help of legal counsel, which she so desperately needs? Only time will tell! Stay tuned for what happens next in this gripping case because her legal battles aren't over yet!
Fantastic! 🙌🏼
