From snubs to comebacks, to Alicia Keys finally wearing some makeup. The 2025 Grammys definitely did not disappoint. The night started with the celebrities hitting the red carpet. Some looks were elevated. Some looked like real witches. And some were simple. Shout out to Kacey Musgraves who showed up in a simple white tank top. Others…not so much. Joy Villa arrived wearing a dog necklace and a Trump-inspired red cap. Julia Fox arrived wearing a wig cap, naked dress, and cleaning gloves. And Bianca Censori wore, well, nothing.

Trevor Noah was the host of the grand evening. Trying to entertain the crowd with terrible jokes at their expense. Sprinkling prayers to Californians in between his less than stellar opening monologue. He tried to kick things off but he had his own misses. Despite this, and views complaining, this was the host’s fifth consecutive year in a row. This year, he also serves as a producer on the show. A joke that didn’t land? As a South African immigrant, Noah referenced his own citizenship.
“There’s been a few changes in Washington,” he said. “So this may be the last time I get to host anything in this country.”
With little laughter from the crowd, I wonderer…Did no one tell him he was the DEI hire for the Grammys? Noah also couldn’t resist making a Taylor Swift joke. Pretending to have just noticed she was at the ceremony. He poked at the intensity of her fanbase. While also hinting at the fact that should she win again. “There could be an upset.” He attempted to joke. With an emotional tribute to a hurting Los Angeles. Everyone seemed to be providing words of inspiration for the towns impacted. The Grammy's even let the city firefighters give the announcement of the last award Album of the Year. With seven million dollars in pledges from viewers, the Grammys were on the verge of becoming a telethon. Nominees for best new artists. Such as Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter were given ample time to showcase the immense potential that is emerging in music. The Weeknd, who had been absent from the Grammys due to his boycott, made a surprising reappearance. Playboi Carti joined him onstage to sing Timeless. The Weekend sang 3 songs. Playboi Carti got his fans holding their breath again. The highly anticipated I am Music was supposed to drop last year. Fans were surprised to see him there.
Beginning with a group of young men from the area. After the devastating wildfires in their hometown, brothers Griffin and Taylor Goldsmith of the band Dawes were chosen to open the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. Aside from their childhood house, guitars, and a brother's home, they lost a lot of things. In addition to performing at Thursday's FireAid benefit concert, they have spoken out on behalf of victims and raised funds.
“They truly epitomize the unique spirit that we are seeing in LA right now,” host Trevor Noah said. “What better way to start the Grammy Awards?” Dawes then played Randy Newman's “I Love L.A.” Surrounded by an all-star backing band: John Legend, Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Brittany Howard, and St. Vincent.
“Look at these firefighters, ain’t nothin’ like ‘em nowhere,” Taylor Goldsmith sang, altering the line: “Look at these women/There ain’t nothing like ’em nowhere.”
Doechii celebrates her Grammy win for song, Nosebleed. Doechii became just the third woman in Grammy history to take home the trophy for Best Rap Album. While accompanied by her mother; she conveyed a powerful message to young Black females.
“I know that there's some Black girl out there, so many Black women out there, that are watching me right now, and I want to tell you: You can do it. Anything is possible. Anything is possible,” she said.
This is the icing on the cake for the 26-year-old Floridian. Who has had an incredible few years thanks to his innovative blend of R&B, hip-hop, jazz, and theatrical flourishes. The "swamp princess" is a humorous moniker she uses for herself. "Alligator Bites Never Heal". Her mixtape from 2024 peaked at No. 8 on the Top Rap Albums list. No. 9 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart, and No. 33 on the Billboard 200. At one point during her electrifying Grammy performance of "Catfish" and "Denial Is a River," the singer-songwriter undressed into a white two-piece outfit. With the support of more than a dozen dancers dressed in similar Thom Browne suits.
Chappell Roan. After winning Best New Artist, Roan took to the stage to call for reform in the music industry. In 2015, Roan joined Atlantic Records and launched her music career with the release of multiple tracks. One of which was "Pink Pony Club." She was dropped by the label in 2020. She released her first full-length album after returning to her hometown to work as a barista.
“To be so betrayed by the system and dehumanized while being so committed to my craft was painful,” Roan said in her address. At the beginning of the evening, Roan gave a thrilling performance of her "Pink Pony Club," accompanied by a group of clown cowboys who danced as she sang from atop a gigantic pink horse.
The Hot To Go singer took the stage to tell the Music industry, “We've got your back. Do you have ours?”
The Grammy Awards had a powerful way to prove that they've “changed”. From giving Beyonce album of the year finally to the Weekend and Ye coming back. Even though he hasn't performed at the Grammys since 2017. The Weeknd surprised everyone by just being there. In 2020, the pop star blasted the Grammys, describing them as "corrupt" due to his lack of nominations despite a smash record.
“You owe me, my fans, and the industry transparency," he wrote on social media. Grammys CEO Harvey Mason Jr., who started in his post in 2020. On Sunday said he understood the criticism and listed all the things the Academy has done to fix it.
“We have completely re-made our membership, adding more than 3,000 women voting members. The Grammy electorate is now younger. Nearly 40% of people of color and 66% of our members are new since we started our transformation,” he said. “Over the past few years, we have listened, we’ve acted and we’ve changed.” The Weeknd, who was introduced by Mason. The Weekend sang "Hurry Up Tomorrow," "Cry For Me," and "Timeless" from his recently released album. Along with special guest Playboi Carti. On the smoke-filled stage, he sported a lengthy druid's robe. It had a cultish vibe. And was giving The Idol vibes. But vocals were on point and we are relieved that he has returned.
The weeknd took the stage for a very Occult performance and brought out Carti for their song Timeless.
The Smiths and all their weirdness. Will, Jayden, and Willow hit the Grammys as a family. Noticeably missing, Jada. Probably in another entanglement with her son’s friend….Jayden threw a castle on his head and called it good. Willow owned the Carpet rocking her natural hair. Will Smith was there; hosting a tribute to the late Quincy Jones. Who has recently passed away. He was a huge icon in the industry. Everyone must’ve forgiven him. Or the Academy made Jayden wear that Castle on his head as Will's punishment. I’m not sure. But this marked his first appearance at a major awards show since he slapped Chris Rock onstage at the Oscars in 2022. Smith has been banned from film academy ceremonies for 10 years.
Jayden and sister Willow on the red carpet. The castle on his head though. We can’t.
After getting shut out at the CMAs because Cowboy is NOT a country. No matter HOW BAD you want it to be. Just because you put a Willie Nelson track on the album; does NOT make it country. Sorry, it doesn't. But the Grammys gave it to her anyway. Beyoncé also won Best Country Grammy for Cowboy Carter. No one was more “surprised” than Beyoncé though. The shocked look as she looked around was more rehearsed than Taylors’ when she first appeared on the radar. Real country artists weren’t impressed either. Kacey and Lainey looked less than thrilled when Bey went up to accept her award. Beyoncé made history at the Grammys when she took home the award though. Furthering her record as the most-awarded artist in Grammy history.
“I really was not expecting this,” she said after taking the stage. JayZ and Blu Ivy were also in attendance. Looks like everyone is in formation. Giving the illusion there's nothing true to the rumors about divorce. Beyoncé and daughter Blue Ivy on stage accepting the Album of the Year award for Cowboy Carter.
Now let's talk about Bianca Censori and Ye. Ye and Bianca Censori made a surprise appearance at the Grammy Awards. Censori made an instant jawdrop by pretty much stripping naked on the red carpet! Making history, as the first person to basically go naked on the Grammy Red Carpet. Rumors hit social media fast. Saying the pair had been kicked out because of her outfit. Or lack thereof. Ye and Bianca broke the cameras and bounced.
According to Ye, Donald Lenom was the person who started the rumors. On Monday (February 3), the controversial artist hopped back on Instagram to set the record straight. Sharing an old photo of journalist Don Lemon, he told his 20.7 million followers, “This the goofball that started the rumor that I and my wife got kicked out the Grammies 3 decades of innovating music, and they always KOONS like this.”
Kanye West and Censori showed up at the Grammys red carpet allegedly “uninvited” despite West being a 2025 nominee. Entertainment Tonight then claimed the couple had been thrown out of the event, writing in a post, “ET has learned that the rapper, his wife, and an entourage of about five people showed up to the Grammys uninvited. Kanye walked the red carpet with Bianca, who appeared to be fully naked under her fur coat. ET was told that the couple was then escorted out of the awards show.” But that wasn't true and Ye blames Don.
Facts, they were invited and Ye held nothing back with that statement to Don.
This is the first time Ye has been to the Grammys since 2015. though he has won several awards while not in attendance. Most recently in 2022 when he won two Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song and Best Melodic Rap Performance. He was nominated for his hit Carnival this year. Which features Play Boi Carti, Ty Dollar sign and Rich the kid.

Streamer Kai Cenat dapped up Kanye on his way into the Grammys as well. KAI was there live streaming hiping to run into Billie. But found Ye instead. He was clearly happy to see him despite his controversial views. Ye refused Don Lemons interview. Classic. Annyoed but politely correcting him when he called him Kanye. Though it remains to be seen if other celebs in attendance treated him with the same reaction. I was hoping for a Ye/Taylor moment, but reluctantly, that did not happen. He is probably not allowed within 15 feet of her. Ye and Bianca being the contentious, controversial, pair that they are. Were spotted having a blast at a Grammys afterparty on Beverly Hills Boulevard. Bianca and Kanye were all overoverch other at the event. Dancing and holding hands while showing off their PDAs. They also sang to Ye's daughter, North West. Bianca was also seen holding a mic and singing to Adele's Rolln In the Deep while she sipped on short drinks.
The ultimate winner of the night though, was Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick Lamar was another one to make some Grammy history. At Drake’s expense of course, with his Hit Not Like Us. At one point the entire crowd was singing lyrics to the chart topping hit. Taylor was lit off her ass. Drinking champagne with The Substance actress, Margaret Qualley. Doing the stanky leg and dancing as best as she could. Beyoncé was all smiles and showed real rhythm as she rocked along and clapped to the hit. Everyone was on their feet when he took the stage to accept his award. Can you imagine?! A whole crowd? Everyone in the music industry. On their feet for a song that dubbed you as a pedophile? Yikes. While Drake remained silent on Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Grammy sweep, his father, Dennis Graham offered his remarks on Kendricks win. Reporters caught up to Drake’s dad shortly after Lamar’s triumphs and asked his thoughts on the song thaat calls his son a pedophile.
“I don’t care nothin’ abou,t that shit,” Graham replied. “That ain’t gota nothin’ to do with me. All the best to him… I don’t do that bullshit.” Can someone tell me why his dad is even talking about it? That's his kid….
After dominating the charts and dancefloors worldwide, Lamar’s scathing Drake diss “Not Like Us” won all five categories it was nominated in, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Pushing his Grammy wins total to 22 awards. He also got Ye’s approval. Kanye West credits Kendrick Lamar for “taking down his nemesis". West joked that Lamar "took him down for a little bit," before comparing Drake to a super villian who might get brought back in a future film.
The 2024 anthem, that paints Drake as a pedophile, by the local Los Angelenos took home five grammys. Recognizing his unparalleled talent for fusing artistic expression, financial achievement, and social criticism.
This year’s Grammy snubs feature major artists who were overlooked in the top categories or missed out entirely. Which shouldn't come as a surprise at this point since the Grammys infamously have an inclusivity issue. Even though Harvey Mason argues differently. Among this year's snubs are several musicians who many expected to earn nominations, including Megan Thee Stallion, Lana, and Tyla. All noticeably absent from the show. An awkward red carpet moment went viral after reporters cut off the interview with music legend Babyface to talk to Chappell Roan. Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and producer Babyface, was mid-interview when one of the pair interviewing him spotted Chappell Roan in the background. They called out her name to get the rising pop superstar’s attention.
“You guys wanna do that? Go do that,” Babyface said, graciously handing back the mic and stepping aside with a smile. Babyface gets snubbed for artist Chappell Roan. The interaction between Babyface and reporter duo quickly went viral. Riling up viewers across social media platforms. Including fellow Grammy winner Dionne Warwick, who asked “Am I seeing this right?” on X. You can see video of the interaction for yourself, on YouTube.
